Selected for Residency, Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow, 2024. In July 2024, I was accepted for a one-week residency at Dairy Hollow in Eureka Spring, Arkansas, which I plan to complete in December 2024.
Selected for Residency, Vermont Studio Center, 2024. In November 2023, I was selected for a three-week residency at Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont, which I participated in in May 2024.
Selected for Wardrobe Feature on The Sundress Blog, 2024. Guest curator Valyntina Grenier chose my hybrid chapbook A Registry of Survival to be featured in the Wardrobe section of this blog. Excerpts of the chapbook were posted every day during the first week of January, 2024.
Nomination for Pushcart Prize, 2023. Editor Marie C. Lecrivain nominated my poem “Axis,” which had been published in Dashboard Horus: A Birdseye View of the Universe in 2023 for a Pushcart Prize.
Nominations for Best of the Net Anthology, 2023. My poems earned two Best of the Net nominations in 2023. Editor Mary Meriam nominated my poem “Riverscape” for a Best of the Net Award in 2023 after it had been published in Lavender Review. Additionally, Editor Marie C. Lecrivain nominated my poem “Axis,” which had been published in Dashboard Horus: A Birdseye View of the Universe in 2023 for this annual anthology of the best online writing.
Selected for Residency, Sundress Academy for the Arts, 2022. In October 2021, I was selected for a weeklong residency in March 2022 at Firefly Farms in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Semi-Finalist, David Wade Hogue Poetry Scholarship Rocket Man Award, AIM Higher. Inc., 2022. Poet Kim Noriega selected my poem “Exile” as a semi-finalist in this annual contest, and I was awarded a free self-paced poetry workshop led by Kim at the Poetry Barn.
Semi-Finalist, Key West Literary Seminars’ Scotti Merrill Memorial Award, 2022. In Fall of 2021, I was selected as a semi-finalist for the 2022 Scotti Merrill Memorial Award, which honors emerging poets.

Nominated for a Best of the Net Award, 2020. Poet and blogger Marie C. Lecrivain nominated my poem “Face Value” for a Best of the Net Award in August 2020, after it appeared on her blog Al-Khemia Poetica in March 2020.
Second Place Winner, San Antonio Writers’ Guild Poetry Contest, 2018. My poem “The Aspen” earned Second Place in this annual poetry contest.
Finalist, Key West Literary Seminars’ Scotti Merrill Memorial Award, 2018. At the end of 2017, I was selected as a finalist for the 2018 Scotti Merrill Memorial Award, which honors emerging poets.
Gold Winner, Human Relations Indie Book Award in Personal Challenge Poetry, 2017. I was selected as the Gold Winner in this category.
Winner, Bisexual Book Award in Poetry, 2017. The Body’s Alphabet won this national award sponsored by the Bi Writers Association in June 2017.
Finalist, Lambda Literary Award, 2017. The Body’s Alphabet was selected as a Lambda Literary Award finalist in the Bisexual Nonfiction category.
Finalist, Golden Crown Literary Society Award, 2017. The Body’s Alphabet was selected as a finalist for a Golden Crown Literary Society Award in poetry.
Nominated for a Pushcart Prize, 2016. Headmistress Press nominated my poem “Rescue” for a Pushcart Prize in December 2016.
Honorable Mention in Lindendwood Review‘s Annual Prose Poetry Contest, 2015. “A Pocket of Words” earned Honorable Mention in this annual contest and was published in June 2016 in Issue 6.
Finalist in Gazing Grain Press’ Chapbook Contest, 2015. My hybrid chapbook manuscript, “A Registry of Survival,” was selected as a finalist in this press’ annual chapbook contest.
Semifinalist for The Feminist Wire Poetry Contest, 2014. My poems advanced to the semi-finalist round in this online magazine’s annual poetry contest.
Nominated for a Best of the Net Award, 2012. F.J. Bergmann, the poetry editor for Mobius: The Journal of Social Change, nominated my poem, “pretend play,” for a 2012 Best of the Net Award in September 2012.
